Those rocks are usually underwater, but they lower the waterlevels of the Sacandaga Lake in order to prepare for the spring runoff that comes from the mountains so that we don't flood. They failed miserably last year, but oh well.

Capture Time: 7:45am Exposure: 1/60 sec at f 5.6 Focal Length: 55mm ISO: 200 Flash: None Camera: Canon Rebel Crop: 8x10 Edits: All Lightroom, which means it can be done in a darkroom. I adjusted the contrast, and converted to B+W since all raw files in Lightroom are read in colour.
How did I miss this! I love it. It's awesome. For some reason I love getting to contemplate the details of the rocks, then look up and see the gorgeous water.
Wait, having more mass in the water PREVENTS flooding? That seems a bit backwards...
