Something that I had a spontaneous idea for and whipped up this evening. Um... purple is a bitch to make out of food colouring, and finding paintbrushes that weren't damaged from use was also a pain in the ass. I'm not entirely sure about the lighting on this one, might revisit it later on when I have some more room to work, and better backdrop materials and stuff. But I'm really pressed for space, so this is what I was able to do with what I have right now.
Spent a good hour and a half to two hours on this in Photoshop though, so that I could clean up the backdrop and stuff. Retouching is a bitch. >_<;
Not sure how I feel about the two brushes sitting parallel to each other. Maybe if they were centered and the other one wasn't there? Or the one on the bottom was angled instead of straight?
Other than that though, I love the play of light on the colors Perhaps for the purple it'd work to add more water, so it's more transparent?

The one on top actually was angled, almost severely actually lol, but I think it's hard to tell because of the lighting. I didn't notice it until I put the stuff on the computer though, and by that time I had already torn down and gotten rid of my dyed water. So when I revisit it, I will be more careful.
The purple was difficult. I tried playing with the amount of water and stuff, but it would turn maroon on me. Which irritated me to no end, so I gave up. >_<; I think I'll try washing watercolours into the water next time and colouring the purple that way, because food colouring is a bitch.
Thank you for the words though! I love getting critiques. <3
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
